Psagot 2019 The Land

“The Land” is one of the few wines produced by Psagot that does not have the signature coin on its label. As the story goes, while constructing the winery, builders stumbled upon an ancient cave that dated back to 140 BC, when the Hasmonean Dynasty ruled Judea. They were descendants of the Maccabees, the heroes of the Hanukkah Story. Inside the cave, a coin was found. The front of the coin had the words “For Freedom of Zion” and a picture of a vine leaf.  That message could not be more relevant today.

This Shabbat marks 210 days since Hamas terrorists stormed Israel’s borders, murdering over a 1,000 innocent people and taking over 200 hostages. Let’s keep them in our thoughts and pray for their safe return to “The Land” from which they lived, “The Land” from which they were taken.
