About the Wine

Sauvignon Blanc is a classic French varietal that’s really found a home in Israel. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate—especially in regions like the Galilee and Judea Samaria—it grows beautifully. These areas, with their higher elevations and strong sun, allow for earlier harvesting, which helps preserve the grape’s natural acidity and flavor.
Israeli Sauvignon Blanc is often made in a style similar to New Zealand’s: fresh, fruity, and herbaceous, with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and freshly cut grass.
This is a perfect wine to enjoy with food. Its crisp acidity makes it a great match for chicken, fish, and most Mediterranean dishes. Serve it well chilled, and like most Israeli Sauvignon Blancs, it’s best enjoyed young—ideally within a few years of harvest.
About the Winery
Shiloh Winery was founded in 2005 and is located in the Judea and Samaria region. It overlooks the Shiloh River and the scenic Samarian Hills—an area considered by scholars to be one of the world’s oldest wine-producing regions.

According to the Bible, this land was allocated to the Tribe of Joseph. Over 3,000 years ago, the Israelites settled in Shiloh, which at the time was the most important religious center, housing the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant—long before it was moved to Jerusalem. Wine played a major role in religious life then, used in Temple rituals, Sabbath celebrations, festivals, and life cycle events. It truly was a golden age for winemaking.
Today, Shiloh Winery produces around 230,000 bottles a year, with up to 60% exported to North and South America, Europe, and the Far East.
About the Winemaker

Amichai Luria has been the head winemaker at Shiloh since day one in 2005. He’s known for working skillfully with a wide range of grape varieties and styles. His wines have consistently received top marks—like 95 points from Decanter, 93 from Wine Enthusiast, 92 from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, and 90 from Wine Spectator.
Amichai is meticulous and detail-oriented. His philosophy is simple: if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right—and his award-winning wines are a clear reflection of that.
