About the Wine
Part of the winery’s D vs. G series, this Rosé is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers expressive floral aromas along with appealing notes of fruit such as plum, cherry, and strawberry. The wine is fruity on the front palate, balanced by refreshing acidity and a clean finish.
The D&G line represents the winery’s entry-level wines and draws its inspiration from the biblical story of David and Goliath. Like the story itself, the series reflects the idea that even something small can stand strong against giants. This is an easy-drinking and delicious rosé—the kind of wine you will find yourself returning to again and again.
About the Winery
Five Stones Winery was founded by five friends who share a deep love for both Israel and Israeli wine. Together they bring decades of experience spanning viticulture, winemaking, hospitality, and business.
The founding partners each brought unique expertise:
- Ilan Hasan, former CEO of Binyamina Winery for over 20 years
- Sasson Ben-Aharon, one of Israel’s most respected winemakers
- Avi Lerner, owner of Binyamina Winery and a well-known Hollywood film producer
- Ofra Ganor, restaurateur and owner of several acclaimed restaurants in Israel
- Amit Kaufman, a culinary professional with extensive experience in Europe and Israel
The name Five Stones is inspired by the biblical account in the Book of Samuel, when David selected five smooth stones before confronting Goliath. The founders saw this story as a powerful symbol of determination, courage, and belief in one’s abilities.
Similarly, the winery was founded with the confidence that their wines could one day stand alongside some of the great wines of the world. Their philosophy is built on five guiding pillars:
- Respect for the land
- Humility toward nature
- Love for the vine
- Passion for wine
- Professional excellence
Five Stones Vineyards is located near Tel Azekah in the Elah Valley, the region traditionally associated with the battle between David and Goliath around 1010 BCE.
The area’s long, narrow valley features fertile soils and relatively high levels of rainfall, creating excellent conditions for growing quality grapes. The surrounding forests, open green spaces, and abundance of wildflowers make the region not only beautiful but also one of the most environmentally friendly places in Israel for cultivating vines.

About the Winemaker
Sasson Ben-Aharon is among the most experienced winemakers in Israel. Over his career, he has served as Chief Winemaker at Binyamina Winery, Efrat Winery, and Mony Winery.
He began his career at the Israel Wine Institute, where he worked as a winemaking consultant and collaborated with several prominent wineries, including Domaine du Castel. His extensive knowledge and decades of experience have helped shape the style and quality of the wines produced at Five Stones Winery.
