Looking for wine to serve this Passover?

This year, the Passover holiday begins the evening of April 22nd and lasts eight days for those outside the land of Israel. The first two evenings are especially important as a special service,“Seder”, is held in the home. At the Seder, the story of the Jewish People’s enslavement in Egypt, and eventual freedom is detailed. It all takes place around the dinner table, where the story is told, special foods are partaken, and four cups of wine are enjoyed.

Although there are numerous theories to the significance of “4” cups, all are in agreement that drinking “wine” is celebratory, and on Passover, one is celebrating the passage from slavery to freedom. The drinking of the wine has also come to symbolize the resilience and perseverance of the Jewish people. The four cups are a testament to keeping faith and believing that better times are ahead.

This year, more than any time since the establishment of the State of Israel, has faith and hope been more important. On Oct. 7, 2023, thousands of Hamas terrorists stormed Israel’s border and killed 1,200 innocent people in the most savage way before taking 240 hostages back to Gaza. Today, 180 days later, the hostages still have not been released and Israel’s war for the security of its citizens continues, but we must have faith that the IDF will succeed in its mission to free the hostages and preserve the safety of its people. We must believe and hope that better times are ahead.

With Passover just weeks away, we at Israel Wine Girl ask for you to join us in supporting the State of Israel by purchasing Passover wines from the Holy Land.

  1. As someone who has lived in Israel for a very long time, I was confused at first as to why your table had two columns 🙂
