About the Wine 🍇

A unique blend of the French varietals Colombard and Marsanne, this wine is crisp, fresh, and exactly what you’d expect from a Mediterranean-style white.
Colombard, which hails from western France and is related to Chenin Blanc, is prized as a blending grape thanks to its intense aromatics and vibrant acidity. On its own, it can be somewhat neutral, but it truly shines when paired with richer varietals. It thrives in warm climates with long growing seasons—explaining its success in places like Australia, South Africa, California, and Israel. It also benefits from Israel’s advanced drip irrigation systems .
Marsanne, from the Rhône Valley, brings a fuller body and richer flavors—think pear, nuts, and subtle sweet spices. Naturally lower in acidity, it pairs beautifully with brighter grapes like Colombard.
This relatively rare blend showcases the creativity of MAIA’s original winemaker, David Bar-Ilan. The balance is spot on—Marsanne adds roundness and texture, while Colombard lifts the wine with freshness and citrusy zing.
Our friends at Tulip Winery suggest enjoying this wine at the beach—and honestly, that feels like the perfect call. 🏖️
About the Winery 🏡

MAIA is a boutique label and sister brand to Tulip Winery, focused on crafting wines that reflect the Mediterranean lifestyle—fresh, food-friendly, and expressive of place.
The name MAIA stands for Mediterranean Approach Israeli Art.

To bring this vision to life, owner Roy Itzhaki partnered with leading Mediterranean wine experts, including Professor Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and vine specialist Professor Kostas Bakasietas, alongside winemaker David Bar-Ilan.
Mediterranean cuisine is all about bold, fresh flavors—olive oil, lemon, herbs, fresh fish, meats, and vegetables —and MAIA wines are designed to pair beautifully with these dishes.
About the Winemaker 👩🔬
Current winemaker Dana Berry joined Tulip in 2023. Prior to that, she worked at Nana Winery in the Negev under the mentorship of California winemaker Kerry Damskey, bringing valuable warm-climate experience to the MAIA lineup.
