🍇 About the Wine

This delicious wine is made in a traditional French rosé style. In simple terms, that means it’s crafted from red grapes that spend only a short time in contact with their skins before pressing. This brief contact gives the wine its gorgeous pink color without extracting too much tannin. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel tanks, helping to preserve those fresh fruit and floral aromas.
Classic French rosés are typically made from grapes like Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, or Mourvèdre, creating dry, crisp wines with notes of strawberry, cherry, and citrus.
The 2025 Barkan Blush takes a slightly different—and very fun—approach. It’s made from Caladoc, a lesser-known French grape that’s a cross between Grenache and Malbec. So while it nods to tradition, it also brings something unique to the glass.

Grown primarily in southern France, especially in the Languedoc region, Caladoc is a darker-skinned grape that gives this wine its richer pink hue, vibrant aromatics, and bright acidity. Expect notes of ripe raspberry, cherry, strawberry, hints of white fruit, and soft florals.
Thank you to our friends at Barkan for choosing such an interesting grape—you’ve created something truly special here. 👏
🏡 About the Winery
Barkan is one of Israel’s largest wineries, producing 12–14 million bottles a year and managing over 2,500 acres of vineyards. The main winery is located at Kibbutz Hulda, east of Tel Aviv, with grapes sourced from top regions including the Golan Heights, Galilee, and the Jerusalem Mountains.

Their portfolio is incredibly diverse, offering both high-quality wines and affordable favorites. With countless awards from prestigious competitions, Barkan continues to innovate and evolve.
Their newest line—Allure—has me especially excited. These wines are designed to be light, tasty, and aromatic—perfect for easy, joyful sipping. Current offerings include:
- Sauvignon Blanc – citrus and guava with balanced acidity
- Roussanne – delicate floral and citrus notes with a long finish
- Viognier – beautifully floral and aromatic
- Orange Wine – a Colombard and Muscat blend with deep color and rich flavor
And let’s not forget—the bottles are absolutely gorgeous, making them even more fun to open on a sunny day with friends and family ☀️
