The Zion Capital Rosé 2024 is a premium dry rosé crafted from Grenache and Caladoc grapes grown in Israel’s beautiful Galilee region.
🍇 Grenache is one of the world’s premier grapes for rosé, especially in France’s Southern Rhône Valley, where it is prized for producing wines with vibrant fruit, spice, and excellent structure.
🍇 Caladoc is a French grape created in 1958 by crossing Grenache and Malbec. It was developed to capture Grenache’s approachable fruit character while adding greater color, balance, and vineyard resilience. Although often used in blends, it adds wonderful depth and freshness to this rosé.

🏡 About the Winery
Zion Winery was founded in 1848 by Rabbi Yitzhak Galin in the Old City of Jerusalem.
🤯 Yes, you read that correctly!
Nearly 100 years before Israel became a state, and more than a decade before Theodor Herzl was even born, there was already a winery in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Galin, whose family had immigrated from Ukraine, recognized the need for locally produced wine in the Holy Land. Because Ottoman law prevented him from obtaining a license to sell wine, he partnered with his brother-in-law, Baruch Shor, who held the necessary permit. Together, they purchased grapes from Arab farmers in Hebron, produced the wine in Jerusalem’s Muslim Quarter, and established what was originally known as the Shor Family Winery.
As the industry evolved and wineries moved away from family names, the business became Zion Winery, honoring its enduring connection to Jerusalem and the Land of Israel.
In 1982, Zion Winery relocated to the outskirts of Jerusalem, modernized its facilities, and shifted its focus toward producing classic dry wines. Today, the winery sources grapes from vineyards stretching from the northern Golan Heights to the Negev Desert, allowing the winemaking team to showcase the diversity of Israel’s growing regions.
Still family-owned after 177 years, Zion Winery remains one of Israel’s largest wineries, producing quality wines at several price points.

❤️ Why I Like This Wine
There are many rosés on the market, but this one stands out for two reasons.
First, it’s simply delicious.
It has everything I look for in a summer rosé—bright fruit, refreshing acidity, and enough body to enjoy on its own or with dinner. It’s crisp without being sharp and flavorful without being overly fruity.
Second, I love the history behind it.
Every bottle represents nearly 180 years of continuous family winemaking in Jerusalem. When I pour a glass, I’m reminded that I’m tasting not just a wonderful wine, but a living piece of Israeli history.
For me, that’s something special.
